Principal investigator

Stella A. Gonsales

Stella was born in Brazil, where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). She then pursued her PhD at University of Florida, under the supervision of Prof. Adam Veige. After a one-year post-doctoral research in the group of Prof. Jeff Byers, at Boston College, she joined Prof. Amir Hoveyda’s lab, first at Boston College and from 2019 until 2021 at the Supramolecular Science and Engineering Institute (ISIS), University of Strasbourg, France. She then spent 6 months in the group of Prof. Daniel Taton, in the Organic Polymer Chemistry Laboratory (LCPO) at the University of Bordeaux, before starting her position as Assistant Professor at University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague), in April 2023.

postdoctoral researchers

Anand Shabade

Anand was born in Maharashtra, India. He completed his doctoral research at the National Chemical Laboratory in Pune, India, with Prof. Benudhar Punji. His doctoral research was based on synthesizing 3d-metal catalysts for direct hydrogenation and C-H bond functionalization of various organic compounds. After that, he joined The Gonsales Research Group to carry out his postdoctoral research on (de)polymerization reactions in June 2024.

Master students

Robert Salerno

Robert is from the United States. He received his Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is now a student in the Master’s program in Chemistry, Technology, and Materials. He joined the group in July 2024.
